Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Pointers on Strategies to Create Free Printable Wedding Invitations That Appear Superb

A simple search engine inquiry will show you that you can find hundreds of free, printable wedding invitations online. With some basic design skills and a good word processing program, you could even design your own. But, will they look professional or poorly made? That could all depend on your font, ink and paper quality.

So, what are the tricks and tips that can take a ink-jet printed wedding invitation from shoddy to professional? To find out, keep reading and you'll learn exactly what is involved in turning free, printable wedding invitations into classic, professional-looking masterpieces.

Buy a High-Quality Paper Stock

Have you ever seen a high-quality invitation printed on 20-lb copier paper stock? No, and there's a reason. By investing in a high-quality, heavy card stock for your invitations, you'll give them an expensive look and feel. You'll also notice that your print quality will improve, as will the overall texture of the invitation.

When buying card stock, you can purchase pre-cut card stock which is already laser cut into a classic invitation shape. These kits typically also come with matching envelopes and RSVP cards, though they can be expensive. Alternatively, you can buy plain, uncut card stock and cut it yourself, but be sure to use a reliable paper cutter for a clean and straight cut every time.

Print With a Dependable Printer

If your printer constantly jams, prints unevenly or leaves unsightly ink lines on your documents, you don't want to use it for your wedding invitations. Instead of wrestling with a cheap printer that's not up to the job, ask a friend to use theirs or take the invitations to a copy shop where they can do fast, laser-printed copies for as little as 5-cents an invitation.

Add a Personal Touch

There's nothing wrong with a classic invitation printed on a basic, clean piece of white card stock. Like that little, black dress in your closet - it's traditional, safe and always looks great. However, you can also take your wedding invitations to another level with a small, personal touch or embellishment.

Some brides add a small ribbon or bow at the top, while others print the actual invitation on vellum paper (a heavy, see-through paper) and then affix it to a card stock backing. These little extras are a great way to add your own personal touch.

Pick a Readable Font

Searching for free printable wedding invitations online is great, but don't get sucked in by complex, but hard-to-read fonts. Ideally, you want all your wedding guests to be able to easily read and understand every word of your invitation. So, stay away from overly ornate, script fonts that don't always work on paper.

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Letterpress Weddings The Phenomena That's Swept America Now Hits The U.K.

Actually it's far from being 'new' though it is getting plenty of fresh attention. Letterpress stems from the earliest printing industry some hundreds of years. Names like Caxton and Guttenberg were hot off the press literally. They were the fathers of priniting, the first known printing done in England was a Letter of Indulgence by John Sant, Abbot of Abingdon around 13 December 1476 printed by William Caxton on his first press."

Early printing relied on pressing carved images of letters or pattern designs covered in a coat of ink into paper which would leave a printed likeness giving birth to the term 'Letterpress'. Because the carved images were three dimensional they could if pressed too hard into the paper leave a relief of the carved object in the surface as well as the inked likeness. This was thought to be very bad printing because the type had been 'over-impressed' into the paper. I suspect that it had something to do with the value of the early 'type' which was very soft that formed this opinion and over impressing caused damage and excessive wear very quickly.

The earliest type was carved from wooden blocks which was a slow process then type cast from lead quickly became popular. Soft lead however did quickly wear or loose its shape being squashed out by too much pressure and so printers used as little pressure as possible to preserve the expensive type.

So What's The Current Buzz All About?

As type became cheaper and the emphasis changed from practicalities to a desire for greater artistic merit the over-impressing or Letterpress technique developed in to a proper craft probably due to the dazzling results that can be achieved.

The printed work has the appearance of a wooden carving with sharp crisp lines but of course on paper. Combined with the right typestyles or 'fonts' some of which feature sweeping curves and grand flourishes the results are Fantastic and produce the sort of documents that are truly fit for royalty.

In modern times the revival of the craft has experienced a huge growth mostly through the wedding industry where its great beauty has been transforming wedding stationery.

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Learn How To Capture New Business For Your Award Shop

If you've been in business long enough, you know gaining new business is important to the growth of your company. In some industry's new blood is the lifeblood of the business and without it, you die. If you want to reach your full potential in your venture, then you will need to have ongoing marketing strategies that will grow your business each year.

A large number of Award Shop owners desire to develop corporate business and gain them as a regular account. After all, who wouldn't want to have a nice repeat account with a corporation like, American Airlines or Wendy's? Gaining these type of monthly accounts can increase your business and can also be used to secure other accounts as well.

Consider this … you have an engraving business and you supply numerous products from plaques, trophies, badges, pens, etc … and you want to develop an account with your local McDonald's. You may or may not know the owner, manager or anyone employed there on a personal basis at this time. However, when you do introduce yourself and your line of business, be prepared to hand the "decision maker" an impressive item. Not just a simple business card with your contact info, give them something that will cause them to remember you.

Here's the idea … Most people enjoy receiving something that has been personalized for them, something with their name on it. You as an engraver have all sorts of items you can engrave and present to the manager as gift, introducing your business. Another impressive look is to have their company logo or corporate insignia engraved on the piece as well. I suggest creating a "sample" of what you would like to do for them on a monthly basis and plant the idea for them to present an Employee of the Month award.

Present the owner (or manager) with a 7x9 designer plaque that has their corporate logo and name engraved on it, along with wording that best describes the appreciation award. If you do not currently have their logo on file, you can obtain it quite easily by searching the web for logos & clip art, one great source is LogoF Additionally, create for them a name badge that also has their name and logo on it. Plan to leave these items behind as a free sample, demonstrating your products and services.

Another nifty thing to do is show them a large perpetual plaque. Something around a 10x13 with a nice brass header plate that has their corporate logo engraved large. If you own a laser engraver, laser their logo on black brass and present it on a walnut board. Also, double plate the header with an additional piece of gold brass and it will cause the engraved logo to stand out more on the brass plate.

Having an Employee of the Month award is great for showing appreciation to workers who do their job well. This will create an ongoing month-to-month award program that will enable you to show off many other products you have available for them. Think about it, if you are the one doing their awards and then they need a banner for a special promotion, they're going to call you. It's your company that is on the forefront of their mind, due to them calling or seeing you each month for their Employee of the Month awards. Including getting additional nametags made for new employees that are hired each week, month or quarter.

Establishing this type of account will enable you to generate more accounts just like it. Imagine going to other establishments with the same idea and adding the fact that you already do it for McDonald's, Wendy's, etc… This gives you more clout and in turn builds your corporate business faster.

Using these type of ideas to "get your foot in the door" is sure to capture new business for your award shop and continue to grow your business.

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Why You Should Never Give A Key To Your Office To An Employee

Stay in business long enough and you'll most likely develop friendships with some of your employees. Maybe not a close friendship but one that gives you and them a comfort zone that differs from when they were first hired. As more trust is built or gained through ongoing working relations, usually everyone lowers their guard a bit and begins to settle into a "working relationship".

It's not an uncommon practice or unusual expectation to offer a key to your Office Manager or a key personal assistant (no pun intended). In fact, I've found it to be quite normal that ranking personnel have access to certain files and other business trade secrets that are not available to each and every colleague. That doesn't mean they know every asset of the company and have access to all things. However an implied trust is given and whatever they learn, is to spur on the company's business and enable them to do the best job for you as their employer.

If you as an employer do not have certain "fail safe" tactics in place you are setting yourself up for a hard lesson. I'm suggesting its not "if" but only a matter of time before someone takes an undue advantage of their position. I would agree most are minor and don't require firing, let alone a lawsuit. However, you would be wise to install certain procedures that allow you to check up on your employees.

It's a good practice to call into your office and pose as a potential customer (or existing customer) and ask questions about your products and/or services. Monitor calls if you have a phone system that allows you to do such a thing and grade your employee's performances and critique their customer service calls. You will learn a great deal as to how your "real" customers are being handled and glean good information in the area of employee conduct.

I'm writing from experience. I had given extra liberties to one of my employees, including supplying a key to the office. He had asked me if he could work nights due to he wanted to finish up some college classes at our local university. This particular individual was able to begin and complete our jobs without much supervision. He had computer skills that others didn't have at the time, that enabled him to excel in areas were we needed more help. I agreed to his new schedule and allowed him to come in at the end of the business day and work till late evening. BIG MISTAKE!

Shortly thereafter I noticed his production began to drop off. For some strange reason his progress diminished and jobs began to become incomplete. When I approached him his response was, "I had homework". (Call it a clue when your employee offers up 'homework' as an excuse for not finishing their job). I strongly suggest he communicate with me if these matters were to continue keeping him from completing the tasks. He agreed but things didn't change.

I returned to work one Monday morning in January to find none of the scheduled work was completed. Not one job had even been started! I decided that was it, enough was enough and it was time to let him go and move on. When he arrived later that afternoon I expressed my disappointment and fired him! Upon retrieving the office key, he flipped it to me as if to say … "so what"!

A few days later one of my other employees informed me he was competing with me and calling our customers. Calling them and offering to do their contract work at one-third of the normal price! This was a moment of utter aggravation!!

I later learned he had helped himself to ALL of our proprietary software (software that had been developed over nearly a decade) along with copying our entire customer database! This my friends is a whole other story and would require many pages of writing to inform you of all that happened over a total of 11 years!! That's right, eleven years of litigation.

A long story short … My Company secured over a $650,000.00 judgment, that grew into more than 1 MILLION over the years! We sued and we won!! It was an expensive key!!!

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - How To Kill Your Competitors Product And Get A Great Big Laugh While Doing It

I'll never forget the day one of my competitors began copying and imitating our products and services! At first it was "flattering" or at least I told myself that, in order to not get flaming mad. I kept telling myself, "it's competition that makes the world go-round".

After several months of seeing similar ads, same size, same publications, same frequency and then showing up at the same tradeshows, I decided to do something about it. I did so in an up front, aggressive, in your face, humiliating, embarrassing, and however legit way, that ended my competitions tradeshow appearances once and forever!!

I knew our product was far more superior and much more stable than that of our competitors. It was irritating to see them capitalize on our advertising efforts and "piggy back" on our success by having a "me too" product. Reading and hearing their claims of how our product was trash and nothing but garbage caused me to take action. My company used their negative comments and turned them into an advertising campaign, that led to the demise of their product and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Due to such similarity in our product and our competition, we often received bitter phone calls about their product. So many calls came in each month that we got smart and started offering a discount on our product if they wanted to "switch"! All they had to do was send us their non-working competing product and we discounted our product (usually 30%, sometimes more if needed) and shipped it to them with a full warranty guarantee and support.

By offering the "switch" it was doing several things for us.

1 – It made us look good, better than our competition. Customers couldn't believe we would actually take a "dead" trade-in for our superior working product! Knowing that we didn't manufacture the inferior product astounded them.

2 – It increased our sales. By fielding the "unhappy camper" calls that were coming into our office by mistake, we turned them into positive "happy campers".

3 – Our reputation as "the good guys" became even more pronounced. Customers throughout our industry were singing praises about our customer service and our product popularity.

4 – Customers began to advertise our product for us. Many of our customers supplied us with personal written testimonies that were then used in trade magazine publications and displayed at industry tradeshows.

As if this wasn't enough, we then began to publicize our offer while attending national and international tradeshows. This was by far the most effective and best "kill your competition" move; we've ever done in our entire 21 years of business.

Remember, they were claiming our product was trash, nothing but garbage. If you listen closely enough to your competitions rhetoric, you can glean some pretty nifty ideas. Especially if you're inclined to fire back with some "in your face" type claims and back them up with sound action and documentation. It's been reported that "documentation" beats "conversation" and we had hard-core proof that our competitions product was, well … TRASH!

The best "in your face" action … we hung an acrylic (see through) trash can from the top of our booth at all tradeshow appearances that said, "CAN THE LINK"! (The Link was the name of their product). Stuffed inside the trashcan were gobs of their product!! Jammed in the can, hanging over the edges and dangling 10 feet in the air for all to see. It was so effective that customers were taking pictures of it and giving us "high fives" as a way of support and encouragement. At one particular show it was becoming such an attraction that the Executive Director of the tradeshow asked me to take it down. I asked him if we were violating any tradeshow policies, he said no. So, I politely refused and informed him of the nasty tactics of the competition and let the director know it was our intention to increase the pressure at upcoming shows. We would do this by hanging more trashcans and get larger ones if needed.

To add to the humility some customers had decided (all on their own doing) to wear bright pink t-shirts to the tradeshow that said negative things about the Link. Even worse than just walking around displaying the shirts, they stood outside their booth until the owner of the competing company wrote them a refund check!

That my friends, is the way to kill your competitors product and get a great big laugh while doing it!

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Learn How To Dress Up Your Presentation The Easy Way

Honoring individuals for their achievements may say a great deal about the person but can also demonstrate the sincere appreciation of the one awarding and recognizing the recipients' success. Everyone enjoys receiving awards and being recognized for their efforts. Many times our trophies and plaques are proudly displayed in a prominent place in the home or office. This may be a wall, trophy case or fireplace mantel that in some environments can represent a small shrine.

Reflecting back on awards that have captured my attention, it's always been the logo or graphic picture that first caught my eye. After looking at the design (or the structure of the award itself), I then focus my eyes towards the inscription engraved on the plaque.

There are numerous types of awards from appreciation, acknowledgement, retirement, sports and more. One of the easiest ways to dress up your presentation and make it stand out among others is done by simply applying graphics to the item you are presenting. By adding or implementing a cool design, you will give more personality to the award and make it more attractive to the recipient and the individuals who view it.

Adding clip art or logos to your presentation can be done at a small expense and at times even free, while adding value to the award. Usually the organization or company giving the presentation has their logo available in print or in a digital format that can be reproduced easily. Simply request to receive their insignia in the computer format you need. Now days, more and more company's have their logo already available on CD that will work within the environment of your graphics software. Many times this is easily downloaded from the associations website or may be emailed directly to your address.

If for some reason a logo or design you wish to reproduce is not readily available, you can always have it created or have one "digitized" to meet your needs. By digitizing someone's logo you enable it to be used with certain computer software programs while at the same time giving way to numerous other applications as well.

For example: If you were in need of reproducing a logo for use with a laser engraving process, you may have it digitized and supplied to you in an .EPS format. This particular format is one of the more universal files of type, which many of your leading software programs can import into their layout screen. Additionally, this type of format can be used for other types of applications too. The key to creating any image is to better understand the application (or process) in which the design is going to be reproduced. If you are unsure, it's always best to contact a professional digitizing company to assist you with the production or reproduction of the logo.

You can find many sources on the World Wide Web that can help you from beginning to end, with logo design or clip art images all ready to engrave or print for most any application. The quickest way to locate some of these vendors is by typing in a "keyword" at any of your favorite search engines search bar.

Example: goto MSN.com and key in the words "laser engraving", "logo company" or refine your keywords to a more specific industry such as, "wedding clip art" or "religious clip art".

By using search engines to "search" for a specific type of logo or desired application for creating your awards, this enables you to locate numerous choices much faster and compare their services and/or products on line.

Once you begin to settle in on a company to assist you with your award creation or logo digitizing process, ask them what other type of industry applications they service. One of the reasons you want to acquire this information is for future uses of your digitized image. You may only need to have your logo laser engraved today however, next time you may need to have a banner created with the same design. If your vendor can create your logo to work with both applications without a re-work, it may same you time and money for up coming awards and presentations.

You don't need to know every finite detail for dressing up your presentations. My suggestion is that by adding logos or a graphic design to your awards, it adds value and makes your item more attractive. Connecting with a cutting edge technology companies will help you create these types of designs and have your recipients proud to display their trophy for all to see.

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Three Reasons Why People Won’t Buy And Three Ways To Fix It!

Most of us at some point in our career have experienced the frustration of being unable to "close the deal"! We've walked away wondering what else could have been said, shown or done in order to GTC (Get The Check).

Well, I'm here to suggest to you that sometimes it's simply not the right time for the prospect to "get in", "do the deal" or "sign up". For some unknown (or known) reason, the timing just doesn't seem to fit their lifestyle right now. We've all heard the expression, No doesn't mean NO … it just means, not right now!

I submit to you that people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care! It is up to you (the seller) to communicate to your prospect with every means of communication you have, to become their friend. That's right … their friend!! No one wants to buy from a stranger; everyone prefers to buy from someone they know, someone they feel they can trust. It's our job to get from stranger to friend as quickly as possible.

Three reasons why people won't buy:

1 – No Money

2 – No Need

3 – No Trust

When responding to someone's interest, we must first determine at what "level" his or her interest lies. Simply put, there's a big difference in someone who is just "interested" as opposed to someone who is "committed" .If you are working over the phone or through email, the following three questions may help you in determining a person's interest level and assist you with qualifying your prospect.

You may open up your memo or conversation with …"I'm responding to your request for more information about the ecommerce opportunity found on our website".

1 – What kind of work are you in now?

You are wanting them to say (or write) something to the effect of "… they are tired of what they are doing or looking for some sort of change …" Most likely if they are not unhappy with what they are presenting involved in, there may not be enough motivation to commit to another opportunity. They at least need to want to supplement what they are currently doing with an additional plan.

2 – Are you looking for something full-time or part-time?

This will give you a good idea of their commitment level (if any). Everyone has his or her own definition of what part-time means as opposed to full-time. Most would agree that full-time is anything over forty hours in a single week. However, keep in mind that a great number of individuals wind up treating a part-time position as a hobby and therefore, getting paid as if it were a hobby! Someone who is truly hungry for a change in his or her lifestyle may need to under go a complete paradigm shift.

3 – What do you see yourself doing five years from now?

Listen to their answer, it may be a bit undefined but you will sense in their "story" whether or not there's a fit for them in your business.

Begin to tell them a little bit about your business. Give them the "sizzle message" about what's hot with your deal and why they need to be a part of the team. Include several "buzz words" to describe your opportunity and allow them to feel your excitement and level of energy!

Most important! Ask them a direct YES or NO question. Preferably a call to action of some sort, that will enable you to take them to the next step of your system and lock them into a commitment. A question such as "Does that sound like something you would like to hear (or receive) more information about?

A lot of times people want YOU to answer more questions at this time. They may ask you things like:

1 - How much is it?

2 – What do I have to do?

My suggestion is to plug them into a "system" and let the system answer their questions. Even if you know the answers, it's still better to let the system do the work for you. Why? Simply put … it's duplicatable! You may be a super savvy salesperson but your prospect may not have your talent or skill level. Therefore, they think they have to be like you in order to make things work for them. If you have a "system", everyone can do it!! It's the old KISS method, (Keep It Simple Sweetheart).

Become their friend and service them again!

See ya sometime …

Print Your Own Wedding Invitations - Say It On A Shirt

Throughout human history people have always found ways to express their ideas to others. Handbills and flyers have covered city walls since the advent of the printing press. Graffiti has been around since Roman times.

In the 20th century, a new form of self expression emerged: the t-shirt. Originally introduced by the Navy in 1913, it took widespread use by soldiers in World War II to introduce the crew neck t-shirt to the public. The 1950's were also important in the history of the t-shirt, being worn as outerwear by such stars as Marlin Brando and James Dean. In the 1960's the t-shirt began to be used as a palette for expression. The first corporate advertising on a t-shirt was a can of Budwiser beer. There's even a phrase for the ubiquitous nature of t-shirts as expression: "Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt"

T-shirts can be used to express political views or show musical tastes, or lack thereof. Someone wearing a John Deere t-shirt is sending a very different message from the person in the t-shirt with a character from Japanese animation. And what business doesn't have their logo available on a shirt? People use shirts to tell others about which sports teams they like, a favorite movie or book, who their favorite NASCAR driver is, or to stop looking at their breasts. T-shirts are seen that commemorate any possible event; birthdays, weddings, (and divorces), vacations, summer camps, family reunions, the possibilities are endless.

The technology for custom t-shirt expression has never been more abundant. Kiosks in malls with full-color photo transfers, airbrush artists, online designers for custom screen printed work, they are all easily accessible and affordably priced. Whatever you want to say, there are multitudes of ways to say it on a t-shirt for everyone to see.
